Use these year round front door wreaths options to keep your entryway looking pretty any time of year. These are a great way to save yourself the hassle of having to switch out your decor every few months. And they also happen to look great!

How does it work?

The point of these decorations is that you could theoretically leave them up all year. It’s different from seasonal or holiday options, which can be used for a few months at most. They also tend to be very specific in terms of what plants or embellishments are used.

General options, however, are more relaxed. They feature colors and items that can work during any season. They’re also usually more neutral in terms of color choices as well.

Unfortunately, this means that they can sometimes verge on being too plain. However, the great part of these decorations is that you can always dress them up.

With that in mind, check out the options below for ones that you can use as a base, or as a stand-alone decoration.

Great Base Options

If you’re looking for something that you can use for every season, these options are all good choices. You can hang them as they are, without any additions. But they’re also easy to dress up with seasonal embellishments when appropriate.

Magnolia

Magnolias are a traditional summer flower, but they’ve slowly grown into an option that you can use in other seasons.

This is due, in large part, to their association with farmhouse looks. In farmhouse design, these flowers are favored for their large, dramatic blooms and their ubiquity in the American south.  They’re also mostly a white, creamy color, which is easy to design with.

As such, it’s becoming more and more common to see them in wintertime décor. In some cases, they’re even featured in Christmas décor.

That makes this option a good choice if you want something that you can simply hang up and forget. Because of magnolias’ popularity and color, you don’t have to worry about them not being seasonally appropriate.

Eucalyptus

The pretty, silver-green foliage of eucalyptus is a timeless choice. It’s always been a popular choice in both fresh and artificial arrangements due to its subtlety.

It’s not a particularly dramatic choice. But the delicacy of the leaves and foliage give it enough charm to easily stand on its own as a focal point.

In terms of seasonal décor, this option doesn’t have a particular association. The light green color makes it fit in well with spring and summer. There’s also that almost frost-like touch of silver to the leaves that allows it to blend with winter décor.

This option also comes with a twig base, which gives it a nice rustic touch. This makes it a good option for fall, but also for a number of different décor styles. So overall, it should work for just about any décor need, during any season.

Unfortunately, this option does come with some care requirements. To preserve it, it’s best kept out of direct sunlight and exposure to water.

That makes it a difficult option to use outdoors. However, if you have a covered porch or overhang that protects your front door, it should still work. It may not last as long as it would indoors, but you’ll still be able to use it.

Pip Berry

Pip berry is a fairly neutral choice.

It doesn’t have any strong ties to one season or another. People do tend to use it more often during Christmas, however it’s not strictly a Christmas decoration. Rather, it’s common to see it throughout the year.

As such, it’s the ideal choice if you happen to enjoy rustic décor. The twig base and light accent of the white berries is perfect for country, farmhouse, and even primitive décor. But you can certainly use it with other styles.

The beauty of this option is really in the simplicity. It’s a very basic design, so it’s easy to adapt to any season or setting.

Functionally, this option also has the benefit of being fairly large. It measures over twenty inches at the widest part. With a little fluffing, it should be a great focal point for any door, entryway, or wall.

Preserving Your Choice

Part of preserving a wreath is keeping it clean. Despite their intricacy, these decorations are surprisingly simple to clean. In fact, a quick wipe with some warm water usually does the trick.

It’s also important to consider where you’re hanging it.

Keep in mind, if you’re using your option outdoors, you need to protect it. Any prolonged exposure is going to cause issues with the way the decoration looks.

For one, exposure to direct sunlight can cause the colors to fade, as is true for most fabrics. Water can also break down any glue that’s been used to hold things together. It can also lead to the growth of mold or mildew, especially in humid climates.

As such, outdoor decorations are best used under a covering of some sort. This means a porch, or some type of overhand over the door. These should protect your purchase from most, if not all, of the elements.

If your door doesn’t have any cover, something like the pip berry option mentioned above is a better choice. Because it has a twig base, it’s more equipped to withstand abuse, as opposed to fabric flowers and foliage.

And indoors, it can also help to keep decorations away from windows and other sources of direct light.

When hanging, you also need to make sure that you’re using a method that can support your choice. Heavier options do better with nails or traditional hangers. With lighter option, you can be a little more creative.

Overall, with proper caution and care, whatever you purchase should last for many seasons to come.

Decorations for any Season

Seasonal décor can be a real pain. First, there’s all the trouble of setting it up and taking it down every few months. Then there’s the issue of storing it when it’s not in use.

If you’re not the sort to stay on top of your home décor, don’t worry. There are plenty of options that work for every season.

So save yourself the trouble and use year round front door wreaths to decorate your home.
