Color Schemes

One of the best parts about decorating for spring is the bright, lively color palettes. Most designs for this season incorporate plenty of pastels. Rose, robin’s egg blue, and lavender are all popular color choices. But don’t feel like you have to limit yourself.

Spring is all about color. This is the seasons of flowers blooming, grass growing, and crops starting. Your color choices should reflect that same riotous, vibrant energy. Choose as many colors as you want, and don’t be afraid to go with contrasting choices.

Just make sure to save the bolder colors for summer, Of course, putting in too much orange and red is also good avoid, since that fits more with autumn.

(You can also consider getting a year round option, if you don’t want to fuss with particulars.)

In general, as long as you stick to pastel colors and a clear theme, it’s hard to go wrong.

Flowers

For spring wreaths, you want to focus on bulbs. Spring is the season when bulb flowers like tulips, lilies, daffodils, hyacinths and irises are all in bloom. All these flowers have bright, bold colors and interesting shapes, which makes them fun options.

Outside of bulb plants, other popular spring flowers include Shasta daisies, cherry blossoms, and hydrangeas.

As for the other items, just make sure that they make a statement. With bows especially, this is not the seasons to play it safe. Go for a fun, loud pattern like polka dots or stripes. And be sure to make the bow a large, noticeable embellishment.

Of course, you don’t have to feel limited to just the aforementioned accessories. Anything that feels fresh and organic is going to work for this season. Even if it’s not traditional, so long as it’s vibrant, you can make it work.

Despite the fact that spring favors pretty, delicate designs, you can do much more than just flowers. There’s something bold about all floral options that appeals more to the summer months, or even year round options. For spring, you want something a little more earthy.

For this season, the most popular base is twigs, although there are some other, more unique options.

If you’re designing your own traditional wreath, start with a hearty base, like grapevines or olive branches. These provide an excellent complement to all the delicate florals and soft colors. You can also go with something light in color, like eucalyptus.

You can disguise the base with plenty of florals and foliage, but for a nice touch, leave some showing. It makes the wreath feel fuller when you can see some of the twigs through the florals, or peeking out over the edges of the design.

Unique Options

For spring, another popular but more unique base is fabric. For this season, wreaths made entirely of one or more types of fabric materials are trendy.

Another great fabric option is a spring mesh wreath. These wreaths are made primarily of tulle or mesh fabric, that’s been rolled into bundles.

Those bundles are attached to a wreath frame, and voila! You have a mesh wreath base. And for something with a little farmhouse flair, you can also use burlap instead of mesh.

Another option is to use ribbon. When using ribbon, just form loops, and then attach those loops to the wreath frame.

A spring ribbon wreath is a great way to get rid of any fabric remnants you have lying around. You can also use the same method to make any wreath look fuller and more colorful.

Overall, fabric wreaths are a bright, colorful alternative to floral or foliage wreaths.

Hanging a wreath is also an easy process. You can purchase a wreath hanger, or use another method, depending on your preference.

If you want to add even more decoration, consider hanging a wooden sign. These are a the perfect complement to a wreath, and can help your overall decoration look less plain. Just attach the sign to the door nearby, or hang it from the center of the wreath.

You can also hang multiple wreaths. One popular option is to put two wreaths side by side. You can also use a length of ribbon to hang a smaller wreath from a larger one. This gives you plenty of options for incorporating different colors or themes.
